Pick Up Your Head

From the heart of Tasha Writes

As I get older and find myself reflecting on life, I'm reminded that we're all navigating this same current, but the way we choose to float through it matters.

Along the way, our little boat, raft, or whatever it is we're drifting in may become damaged. Life has a way of doing that. Disappointments come, people let us down, circumstances change, and before we know it, the holes we've accumulated begin letting in water.

Sometimes, so much water comes in that we barely have anything left to float on. Panic sets in, and we begin to feel as though we're drowning in this thing called life.

But what if, instead of surrendering to the water rising around us, we reached beneath that little seat, into the shadows where we haven't thought to look, and discovered a rescue box?

A box equipped with everything we need to patch the holes and keep moving forward. Not because life will stop bringing storms or because our little boat will never suffer damage again, but because we were never meant to navigate these waters alone.

Sometimes we're so focused on the water coming in that we forget there's help within reach. We become overwhelmed by what is happening around us and lose sight of what is available to sustain us through it.

My friend, are you suffocating from the journey?

You don't have to.

Not long ago, I heard God tell me, "Pick up your head."

Those four words have stayed with me, and I've held onto them countless times since, especially in moments when I, too, have felt like I was drowning.

There is a steadfast anchor, and His name is Jesus.

He doesn't promise that the waters will always be calm, but we don't have to face them alone. And maybe that rescue box we've overlooked all along is the reminder that His strength, His grace, and His presence are available to carry us through the very things we thought would take us under.

So pick up your head, my friend. Take a breath. Patch the holes, and keep moving forward.

He's not done with you yet. He's still writing your story.

And before you go, I hope you'll make yourself at home here at Tasha Writes. Stop by whenever you need a little encouragement, a moment to reflect, or simply a place to pause from the busyness of life. There will always be more thoughts, lessons, and pieces of my heart to share as we continue navigating this journey together.

Until next time, keep your head up, my friend.

With love,

Tasha
